East Burke Village is located in the heart of what is affectionately called the "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont, a term coined by beloved Vermonter and environmentalist, Senator George Aiken. We like to think of it as the way Vermont used to be - unspoiled and with its natural beauty intact. However, we're only 15 minutes from I-91, and Lyndon State College is just ten minutes away.

East Burke is a tableau of Vermont at its finest, boasting the challenging and family-oriented slopes of Burke Mountain Ski Area, groomed cross country and snowshoe trails, the nationally recognized Kingdom Trails mountain biking experience, charming inns, a classic Vermont country store, easy access to statewide snowmobile trails, and Burke Mountain Academy - one of the premier ski racing prep schools in the country. Look for their graduates in the Winter Olympics.

"A river runs through it", and pristine lakes and hiking trails are nearby. Summers find residents and visitors mingling at strawberry suppers at the town gazebo, hiking, biking, canoeing, poking around antique shops...Autumn brings our famous Fall Foliage Festival, where crafts people sell their wares, the high school band leads the parade, and the best apple pie in the world is served by the ladies of the East Burke church. And when the snow falls and temperatures dip, after a full day of downhill or cross-country skiing or snowmobiling on the VAST network of trails, warmth is found hearth-side and in the hearts of villagers and guests embracing the beauty that is a Vermont winter. Springtime brings skiing with your shorts on and sugar on snow (a maple syrup harvest tradition).

Nearby antique galleries, shops, museums, libraries, film series, and concerts ensure rainy day pleasures.
